Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise is reportedly set to miss the start of next season due to a hamstring injury.

Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise is reportedly set to miss the start of the 2023-24 season after he sustained a hamstring injury on international duty.

Olise has been representing France at the Under-21 European Championships in Georgia and Romania, but his tournament lasted just two games.

The Frenchman was forced off in the second group game against Norway, less than 10 minutes after scoring the winner in the 1-0 victory.

Olise had to be helped off the pitch after picking up an injury in a collision with Norway goalkeeper Kristoffer Klaesson.

According to The Athletic, subsequent tests and assessments have revealed that Olise has suffered a grade three tear - the most severe category of hamstring injuries.

The recovery time is expected to be around three months, which will rule Olise out for the start of the 2023-24 season.

Olise's France Under-21 teammates showed their support in their final group game against Switzerland when Amine Gouri celebrated his opener by holding up a shirt with Olise's name and number.

The 21-year-old enjoyed a successful 2022-23 campaign for Palace, scoring two goals and providing 11 assists in 37 top-flight appearances.

As a result, Olise became the first Palace player to register at least 10 assists in a single Premier League campaign.

After putting in a number of impressive performances, Olise was named player's player of the season for 2022-23.

Olise's absence could leave Palace short of wide options, with Wilfried Zaha yet to sign a new contract with the club.

As it stands, the Ivory Coast international will leave Selhurst Park on a free transfer when his contract expires at the end of the week.

Palace are expected to keep Roy Hodgson on as manager after the two parties reached a verbal agreement over a one-year deal.
