Paris Saint-Germain boss Mauricio Pochettino will reportedly have to wait until the end of the season to potentially become Manchester United's new manager.

Paris Saint-Germain boss Mauricio Pochettino will reportedly have to wait until the end of the 2021-22 campaign to potentially take charge of Manchester United.

Pochettino has seemingly been identified by the 20-time English champions as their number one candidate to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on a long-term basis at Old Trafford.

According to the Daily Star, the Argentine wants to leave PSG now to become Man United's new manager, but he will have to wait at least six months before potentially being handed the role.

The report claims that the Red Devils are yet to approach the French giants, and the Premier League club have now reportedly agreed a deal with Ralf Rangnick to become their interim boss.

Rangnick, who is currently working for Russian outfit Lokomotiv Moscow as the head of sports and development, will allegedly manage Man United until May before taking on a consultancy role.

Michael Carrick led the Red Devils to a 2-0 win over Villarreal in the Champions League on Tuesday night and is expected to be in charge for Sunday's Premier League clash with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
