Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag insists that "the good times will come" for the Red Devils.

Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag has insisted that "the good times will come" for the Red Devils, with the Dutchman again hailing the club's fans for their support this season.

The 20-time English champions will enter Sunday's Premier League clash against Brighton & Hove Albion down in eighth position in the Premier League table.

Man United need to better seventh-placed Newcastle United's result against Brentford to finish above the Magpies and secure European football for next season.

However, the Red Devils can still qualify for the Europa League through the FA Cup, with Manchester City their opponents in the final of the competition next weekend.

Man United will enter the final matchday of the season off the back of a 3-2 success over Newcastle United on Wednesday night.

Ten Hag sends message to Man United fans

Ten Hag will now be bidding to lead his side to a victory against the Seagulls in what could potentially be his final league match in charge of the club.

"It's fantastic to feel that fight, to feel the strong bond between the team and the fans, and we have seen it through the whole season and in difficult moments," Ten Hag told club media.

"They are always with us and always backing the team, they stuck with us and that is a fantastic feeling, if you can build such a strong bond. We invested a lot, the fans and the team, in difficult moments.

"Stay with each other and you have good times, and I'm sure the good times will come. We're building up, the fans see this and they recognise this and, of course, they count on us. We have to pay them back.

"I think it was a good performance [against Newcastle] and we achieved good levels – as a team and individuals. As you say, we scored some great goals. It was enjoyable to watch and to give a good finish at Old Trafford but we have still two games to go to finish and the season is not over."

Ten Hag looking to target Brighton's "weaknesses"

Ten Hag has said that his side will look to take advantage of Brighton's "weaknesses" when the two teams lock horns on Sunday afternoon.

"We have to make sure that we are dangerous for them and we have to prepare the team very good because we know we're playing a typical style, a style I admire," he added.

"But they have also the weaknesses and we have to take benefit from the weaknesses, as you should."

Brighton will enter the match off the back of a 2-1 home defeat to Chelsea on Wednesday, with the result leaving them down in 10th spot in the table.

The club announced on Saturday afternoon that head coach Roberto De Zerbi will be leaving this summer, so the clash with Man United will mark his final game in charge of the Seagulls.
