Former Love Island star Amber Davies reportedly secures a "leading" role on Coronation Street.

Former Love Island star Amber Davies has reportedly secured a regular role on Coronation Street.

The 27-year-old won the ITV2 dating show in 2017 and has gone on to enjoy a successful stage career, appearing in productions such as 9 To 5, Bring It On, Back To The Future and Pretty Woman.

According to the Daily Mail, Corrie producers were impressed with her when she auditioned for a character 18 months ago and even though she failed to get that part, they have now created a "leading" role for her.

A source told the newspaper: "This is like a dream come true for her, Amber can't believe it, she is so excited."

Davies, who is currently taking part in ITV's Dancing On Ice, is expected to make her cobbles debut this summer.
