Coronation Street is reportedly introducing a 'deepfake' porn storyline involving Abi Franklin.

Coronation Street is reportedly introducing a 'deepfake' porn storyline involving Abi Franklin (Sally Carman).

According to The Sun, Abi will be left horrified when videos appearing to show her having sex are sent to garage colleague Tyrone (Alan Halsall).

A source told the newspaper: "Scriptwriters are always keen to reflect what's happening in the world.

"Abi was caught up in the dark world of drugs and is desperate to find out who's behind the videos. It's awful as they look so real."

The strange storyline is expected to play out on screens later this summer and will follow Abi as she attempts to track down the creator of the videos.

Coronation Street continues Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
