Stephen Mulhern is reportedly in line to replace Phillip Schofield as Holly Willoughby's co-host on Dancing On Ice.

Stephen Mulhern has reportedly been "officially" offered the role as Holly Willoughby's co-host on Dancing On Ice.

The celebrity skating show returns for a new series in January and will see Willoughby joined by a new sidekick following Phillip Schofield's departure from ITV under a cloud earlier this year.

According to The Mirror, the broadcaster has settled on Mulhern - host of shows such as Catchphrase and the upcoming Deal Or No Deal reboot - as Schofield's replacement and expects him to accept the role.

A show source told the newspaper: "Stephen is the perfect choice. Not only does he get on brilliantly with Holly, he is relaxed and fun which sits well with a show like Dancing On Ice."

Other contenders for the role allegedly included camp icon Jane McDonald and experienced reality host Dermot O'Leary.
