Kate Garraway hoping to visit husband Derek Draper today

Good Morning Britain's Kate Garraway reveals that she may be able to see her husband Derek Draper in hospital today.

Kate Garraway has revealed that she may be able to visit her husband Derek Draper for the first time in more than three months today.

The 52-year-old was hospitalised with coronavirus at the start of April and his condition took a dramatic turn for the worse as the disease ravaged his internal organs.

Draper has been in a coma for most of his time in intensive care but is in the process of coming around, although doctors are still uncertain if he is sufficiently conscious to be aware of what is happening.

"I might be able to go and visit Derek today," said Garraway, who returned to work on Good Morning Britain for the first time yesterday.

"In fact the nurses are going to put GMB on for him - they have a TV - and they're going to put it on for him this morning.

"They forgot I was on yesterday - they're going to see if he can hear anything."

Up until now, Garraway and her two children have only been able to talk to Draper through FaceTime.
