Lynne McGranger discusses Home and Away future

Lynne McGranger says that she has "no firm plans" to quit Home and Away after 27 years of playing Irene Roberts.

Lynne McGranger has assured fans that she has no plans to leave Home and Away in the immediate future.

Earlier this year the actress celebrated 27 years of playing Irene Roberts, making her the soap's longest-serving female star ever.

Asked about whether she would consider leaving Summer Bay anytime soon, the 67-year-old told the Daily Star: "At this stage I have no firm plans to leave.

"While I've got my health and fitness I would love the opportunity to do the odd theatre play or pantomimes over there when there's no COVID.

"But I've got no plans to go anywhere at the moment, I feel very blessed at this current climate to have a job

"I have so many friends in Australia and the UK who had all these wonderful plans and shows which have come to nothing."

Home and Away continues weekdays on Channel 5.
