Love Island's Doctor Alex in tears after thank you card from youngster

Love Island star Doctor Alex George admits that he was reduced to tears after receiving a thank you card from a young girl for his efforts working to treat coronavirus patients.

Former Love Island star Doctor Alex George has admitted that he was reduced to tears after receiving a thank you card from a youngster for his work tackling coronavirus.

The 29-year-old is working on the frontline in the NHS as the disease continues to claim more lives in the UK, with 1,019 confirmed deaths to date and 17,089 people having tested positive.

In recent weeks George has been active in the media providing updates on how the NHS is coping with the pandemic and last week led a successful Twitter campaign to secure free parking for NHS workers during the crisis.

To thank him for his efforts, one young fan sent him a card, which he shared on social media:

He added on Instagram: "Needless to say I have been sobbing away at how cute this is. We are in this together. Lets do this. Thank you little Emma this has made my day x"

George is currently self-isolating from his girlfriend while working shifts at the University Hospital in Lewisham.
