Madonna reveals cousin has died from coronavirus

Madonna reveals that three people close to her, including her cousin, have died from coronavirus.

Madonna has revealed that three people close to her, including her cousin, have died from coronavirus.

The 61-year-old has been isolating at home for the best part of a month and has been particularly active on social media, posting enigmatic videos and experimenting with new songs.

In her latest video, the 'Bitch I'm Madonna' singer is seen at a typewriter, telling the audience: "We can't always have a good day."

Later on she reveals that she has been personally affected by the deadly coronavirus disease in recent days, saying: "In the last 24 hours my cousin has died, my security guard's brother has died, and Orlando Puerta, a very important person who played a very important role in my life in terms of getting my remixes to chart on the dance charts, [which was] in large part due to Orlando's passion and commitment to my music."

More than 105,000 people have now died as a result of COVID-19, with almost 20,000 of those coming in the US.
