Normal People's Paul Mescal joins celeb dating app Raya

Normal People actor Paul Mescal joins the invite-only exclusive dating app Raya.

Paul Mescal has joined the invite-only celebrity dating app Raya, seemingly ending speculation that he has started a relationship with US singer Phoebe Bridgers.

The 24-year-old became an overnight heartthrob around the world following the release of acclaimed drama Normal People earlier this year, although he has admitted to finding the magnitude of the attention an "uncomfortable" experience.

Mescal was pictured enjoying breakfast with Bridgers in Ireland last week, sparking rumours that they were seeing each other, but according to The Sun he remains single and has joined the exclusive Raya community.

"Paul has become very famous in lockdown and he could have practically any woman he wants at this point," a source told the newspaper.

"He knows he would be recognised instantly on regular dating apps so has turned to Raya because it's more exclusive and discreet.

"He had to be invited onto it by one of his new celebrity pals and then apply before he was allowed to set up an account. But there are lots of beautiful people on there for him."

Mescal has already filmed his next role, starring as a handsome builder in Channel 5's upcoming mystery drama The Deceived.
