Paul Mescal's girlfriend Phoebe Bridgers reveals that she had an abortion last year.

Phoebe Bridgers - girlfriend of Normal People heartthrob Paul Mescal - has revealed that she had an abortion last year.

The 27-year-old singer decided to share the news with her followers on social media in the wake of the news that abortion could become illegal in some parts of the US under proposals by the Supreme Court.

"I had an abortion in October of last year while I was on tour," she wrote on Instagram.

"I went to planned parenthood where they gave me the abortion pill. It was easy. Everyone deserves that kind of access."

Bridgers and Mescal are believed to have been dating for the last two years and are rumoured to have got engaged in recent weeks.
