Former Emmerdale star Adam Thomas is reportedly on the verge of signing up for Strictly Come Dancing.

Former Emmerdale star Adam Thomas is said to be on the verge of signing up for this year's Strictly Come Dancing.

The 34-year-old played Adam Barton in the Dales between 2009 and 2018 and can currently be seen in the revival of Waterloo Road, having reprised his role of Donte Charles earlier this year.

Adam is twin brother to Scott Thomas, who has previously appeared on Love Island, and is also the younger sibling of former Coronation Street actor Ryan Thomas.

"After two decades on screen and, as one of the Thomas brothers, he instantly brings a huge fanbase. That's what Strictly bosses love," a source told The Sun.

"Producers also see him as someone who can fill the young hunk role, which is important and often sees them pick soap stars."

The new series is due to get underway in September.
