Nigel Harman withdraws from Strictly Come Dancing at the eleventh hour due to injury.

Nigel Harman has withdrawn from this year's Strictly Come Dancing due to injury.

The news came just hours before the 50-year-old actor and his professional partner Katya Jones were due to take to the dancefloor for Musicals Week.

A BBC spokesperson confirmed: "Unfortunately Nigel has sustained a rib injury which means he is unable to perform in tonight's show and has had to withdraw from Strictly."

Harman's departure means that four celebrities remain in the competition with a fortnight to go until the grand final - Ellie Leach, Bobby Brazier, Annabel Croft and Layton Williams.

One couple had been in line to be eliminated this week but all four are now likely to be granted a reprieve and move straight through to next week's semi-final.

Strictly continues tonight at 7.25pm on BBC One.
