Strictly Come Dancing 'manages to secure top celebs'

Strictly Come Dancing reportedly signs up a string of top names for this year's series.

Strictly Come Dancing producers have reportedly managed to sign up a string of top celebrities despite the ongoing threat of coronavirus.

The BBC are said to be determined to get the show on air as usual in September and are considering measures including axing studio audiences and quarantining the participants.

There had been fears that COVID-19 could put off celebrities from wanting to take part, but The Mirror claims that the opposite is true.

"We've signed up people we've been after for absolutely ages, who have said they were keen but were always tied up with other work," a source told the newspaper.

"Lots are saying yes who have said no before, simply because they've actually got the time to fit it in their schedules."

Around half of the 15 celebrities are said to have already signed up, with rumoured names including radio DJ Chris Evans, chat show host Alan Carr and Loose Women star Stacey Solomon.
