Strictly judge Shirley Ballas takes coronavirus test

Strictly Come Dancing head judge Shirley Balllas reveals that she has taken a coronavirus test after developing symptoms in the last few days.

Strictly Come Dancing head judge Shirley Ballas has revealed that she has taken a test after developing coronavirus symptoms.

The 59-year-old has had a tough few days, first breaking her foot then developing a temperature and a cough.

Speaking to reporters after Strictly won best entertainment programme at last night's BAFTAs, Ballas said: "I broke my foot so that's healing. I haven't been so well these last few days. I had a temperature and a this and a that.

"I was coughing. I just took the COVID test today so we'll have to wait 24 hours.

"I'm at home alone, with my little dog Charlie. He'll be my companion for the next few days."

The new series of Strictly has been both delayed and shortened due to the coronavirus pandemic and is due to begin towards the end of October.
