Another candidate is sent packing by Lord Sugar on The Apprentice.

Sophie Wilding has become the next candidate to be fired by Lord Sugar on The Apprentice.

For this week's task, the candidates were charged with designing their own electric driverless pod, creating a brand, hosting a launch event and pitching their pod to clients from the worlds of entertainment, leisure and sport.

Akeem Bundu-Kamara stepped up as project manager for Infinity and developed a taxi pod called 'BeePure' which emphasised eco credentials with design elements including bees, grass and sunflowers on the exterior.

Sophie, meanwhile, led Diversity and initially asked for a "party pod" that was "ultra Instagrammable" but later adjusted her vision to an "experience pod", creating confusion for her sub-team.

When the final totals came in, it was a slam dunk for Akeem's team with impressive revenue of over £1.2 million, while Sophie's team managed just over £535,000, despite having a man advantage.

Sophie opted to bring Akshay Thakrar and Nick Showering back into their boardroom, citing their lack of support for her, but for Sugar the person responsible was obvious.

"You were the project manager and you created a useless product that was hard to sell, and that was unforgivable," he told Sophie. "The failure of this task is crystal clear to me - it was a bad idea, badly executed and for that reason, you're fired."

Speaking in the cab home, she said: "This isn't the end for me obviously. I'm going home to concentrate on my cocktail bar. I'm looking forward to the future and expanding."

The Apprentice continues next Thursday on BBC One with a task centred around a racing-themed corporate away day.
