British contestants will be welcomed onto future seasons of The Circle USA following the axe of the original UK version.

British contestants will be included on future seasons of The Circle USA, it has been revealed.

Earlier this year Channel 4 announced that it had pulled the plug on the original UK version after three series and a celebrity special in order to try out new formats.

Netflix has the rights to the format worldwide excluding the UK, but to get around that logistical difficulty, British contestants will be invited to appear on future seasons of the US version.

The streaming service already has British contestants alongside Americans and other English-speaking contestants on Too Hot To Handle, which has just wrapped up its second season.

The Circle USA season three has already been filmed, but Netflix has already given the go-ahead to a fourth and fifth seasons for broadcast in the future.

The show is filmed in the same Salford apartment building that was used for the UK version.
