Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang says that the players will "give everything" for manager Arsene Wenger.

Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has praised manager Arsene Wenger, claiming that the players want to "give everything" for him.

The Frenchman has come under fire in recent days for the manner in which his team were humiliated in the EFL Cup final by Manchester City last weekend.

Many fans called for Wenger to step down at the end of last season, but the experienced coach ended up penning a new two-year contract.

Aubameyang was brought into the club by the 68-year-old during the January transfer window, and since signing from Borussia Dortmund, the forward has made three appearances in all competitions and has netted one goal.

"I think it is a difficult moment, but I think we've played against great teams, and I think we just have to be united, keep going, working hard and that's the way to follow," The Mirror quotes the Gabon international as saying.

"[Wenger] is a great manager, everyone knows it. Okay, it is not an easy moment, but we have to give our best to show him that we play for him and give everything for him."

Arsenal will take on City this evening in the Premier League at the Emirates.
