Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger defends the form of Alexis Sanchez, insisting that the Chilean forward's levels have not dropped as a result of ongoing speculation.

Arsene Wenger has insisted that Alexis Sanchez remains "fully committed" to Arsenal, as speculation regarding the forward's future continues to rumble on.

Sanchez is a long-term target for Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, while neighbours Manchester United are also rumoured to have made their interest known.

Arsenal boss Wenger is unsure what the future holds for the Chile international, but he is adamant that one of his key performers has not let the uncertainty affect his performance levels.

"I don't question his passion when he's on the pitch, he wants to win," he told reporters. "I've never questioned his commitment or attitude.

"He's always fully committed. He never has any problems with his attitude. [His recent form] is not necessarily linked with the length of his contract."

Sanchez, due to become a free agent in less than six months' time, has eight goals in all competitions for the Gunners this term.
