Manchester United hope to sell English forward Jadon Sancho during this summer's transfer window, according to a report.

Manchester United are reportedly hopeful of being able to sell Jadon Sancho during this summer's transfer window, with the forward not a part of the club's plans moving forward.

The England international made a high-profile move to Old Trafford in the summer of 2021 off the back of an impressive spell at Borussia Dortmund, but he has struggled to make his mark for the Red Devils.

Sancho has only managed to contribute 12 goals and six assists in 82 matches for Man United, and he has not turned out for the 20-time English champions since last August.

Red Devils head coach Erik ten Hag said that the forward had been left out of the clash with Arsenal at the start of September due to poor performances on the training ground.

Sancho took to social media to insist that was not the case, effectively calling his manager a liar, and having refused to apologise, he was removed from the first-team picture at Old Trafford.

The attacker returned to Dortmund on loan in January, and he has made five Bundesliga appearances during his second spell with BVB, contributing two assists in the process, in addition to representing the German side in the Champions League against PSV Eindhoven last week.

Sancho, as it stands, will head back to his parent club this summer, and he still has another two years left to run on his contract with Ten Hag's side.

There had been suggestions that the forward could be given the chance to reignite his career at the club this summer, but according to Football Insider, the Red Devils are planning to sell him.

The report claims that Man United will need to make some first-team sales this summer to ensure that they can boost their squad with incomings, and Sancho is viewed as a player capable of raising a decent fee.

A recent report claimed that Dortmund were urging Sancho to force a move away from Old Trafford this summer.

German journalist Christian Falk recently said that Man United want between £40m and £50m to let Sancho leave permanently this summer, but BVB cannot afford that price.

The Bundesliga outfit are therefore said to be relying on the player driving down the fee by making it clear that he has no intention of representing his parent club again.

Sancho played 68 minutes of Dortmund's 1-1 draw with PSV Eindhoven in the first leg of their last-16 Champions League contest last week.
