The New England Patriots have announced the signing of quarterback Matt Flynn.
Veteran Flynn has spent six of his seven years in the NFL at the Green Bay Packers, but he was released this off-season with the side keen to explore the possibility of building up Scott Tolzien.
The Patriots are still waiting to see whether Tom Brady's four-game ban will be upheld, with Flynn giving New England potential cover for their star player as well as competition for second-year passer Jimmy Garoppolo.
The Patriots will face the Pittsburgh Steelers in week one of the next NFL season.
