The Cleveland Cavaliers have reportedly been looking to trade Brendan Haywood away in order to move up the selection order in next week's NBA Draft.
The Eastern Conference champions have had the first pick in three of the last five Drafts, including last year when they picked Andrew Wiggins first overall, but their run to the NBA Finals means that they will get the 24th selection in the first round.
According to ESPN, Haywood's contract is not guaranteed if he is waived by August 2, which the Cavaliers are hoping will attract a trade partner who is looking to create salary cap space.
The 35-year-old featured in just 22 regular-season games for the Cavaliers, averaging 1.6 points per game in the 2014-15 season, and had just a two-minute cameo during the playoffs.
