Oscar De La Hoya has hinted that a fight could happen between Ricky Hatton and Amir Khan in the future.
Hatton will reportedly announce his return to professional boxing on Friday and De La Hoya believes that the former world champion has the attitude needed to be successful once again.
The 39-year-old told Sky Sports News: "I believe he can get back to the top but he has to be very calculative, he has to be very careful and train with passion.
"But if anyone can do it it will be Ricky Hatton because of the willpower, the strength he has inside of him. As long as he can train hard and really feel the passion to be on top once again, he can do it."
De La Hoya claims that Golden Boy Promotions will attempt to organise a bout between Hatton and Khan.
"An Amir Khan fight would be huge; not just in the UK but all over the world. Absolutely we can make it happen," he added.
The British Boxing Board of Control has confirmed that Hatton will be granted a licence if he completes a medical.
