Amir Khan: 'I still have options'

British welterweight Amir Khan insists that he still has options, despite revealing that he has missed out on a lucrative clash with Floyd Mayweather.

British welterweight Amir Khan has hinted that he still expects to be involved in a big fight when he returns to the ring later this year.

Khan revealed late on Friday that a reported showdown with Floyd Mayweather "won't happen", but despite the setback, the former light-welterweight world champion has insisted that he still has options for his next bout.

The 27-year-old told The National: "We have discussed names like Adrien Broner, a re-fight with Lamont Peterson or maybe Shawn Porter.

"Who knows? I never say no to a fight if it is a big fight."

Eddie Hearn, the promoter of IBF mandatory challenger Kell Brook, has previously revealed that he has made a seven-figure offer to Khan to face Brook in the summer.
