Amir Khan showdown with Manny Pacquiao yet to be finalised

A representative for Amir Khan says that his proposed fight with Manny Pacquiao is yet to be finalised.

Amir Khan's proposed showdown with Manny Pacquiao is yet to be finalised.

A representative for the Bolton scrapper has told Sports Mole that the fight has been agreed upon informally, but contracts are yet to be signed.

"Nothing has been signed at this stage but an agreement has been reached," the source said.

The Daily Mail quoted Khan's father Shah as saying that the fight is going ahead in Las Vegas next April.

"The quotes from Amir's father were in relation to the Telegraph article yesterday which quoted [Pacquiao's promoter] Bob Arum saying the fight could have been done two weeks ago if Amir's team were in the US," Khan's representative added.

"Amir wants the fight and it has been agreed upon but no contracts have as yet been signed so [it is] not official. Amir's father wanted to clear up the confusion of a perceived delay in getting the fight on from his side which isn't the case."

Reports also suggest that Pacquiao is yet to decide whether to select Khan or Terence Crawford as his next opponent.

"[Pacquiao's management company] Top Rank may well be negotiating with others hence Arum's recent quotes and the fact nothing has yet been signed despite agreement," SM's source added.

Khan has not fought competitively since defeating Chris Algieri in May.
