England have reached 183-4 at tea on the first day of the second Ashes Test at Lord's.

The hosts had found themselves on 28-3 after a flurry of early wickets but Jonathan Trott and Ian Bell steadied matters to take them to 80-3 before lunch.

The Warwickshire pair took their partnership to 99 after the restart before Trott was caught out by Usman Khawaja off the bowling of Ryan Harris, having made 58 off 87 balls.

Bell brought up his 50 when he hit a wide James Pattinson delivery through leg-side for four.

Jonny Bairstow was bowled by Peter Siddle off a no-ball while on 21, and the batsman was recalled after video replays showed that the Australian had overstepped.

Bell (62*) and Bairstow (28*) will continue at the crease following tea.
