The BBC is to screen Wednesday night highlights of the Champions League from the 2024-25 season.

The BBC will show highlights of the Champions League from the 2024-25 season as part of a new three-year deal with UEFA.

The broadcaster will launch a new Wednesday night show in the vein of Match of the Day to bring viewers all of the goals and key moments from the competition.

"We are simply thrilled to have won these rights," said Barbara Slater, the BBC's director of sport. "Our reach and ability to bring people together is unrivalled and we couldn't be more delighted that UEFA have recognised the value in our ability to bring the UEFA Champions League to the widest possible audience across the UK.

"This package of highlights and digital content will allow football fans to follow the UEFA Champions League, wherever and however they like. The UEFA Champions League is a wonderful addition to our portfolio of football output on the BBC and we can't wait to get started in 2024!"

Elsewhere, BT Sport and Prime Video have been jointly awarded the rights to live coverage of the competition over the same three-year period.
