The Jerry Springer Show will air daily on That's TV from Monday, the channel announces.

Seminal talk show The Jerry Springer Show is returning to British airwaves, one month on from the host's unexpected death.

Springer died at the age of 79 on April 27, having been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer just a few months prior.

His eponymous talk show was a huge hit in the 1990s and became renowned for its outlandish guests, running for a remarkable 27 seasons before coming to an end in 2018.

That's TV has now acquired the UK rights to later seasons of the show and will start showing two episodes every weekday at 10am - beginning part way through season 24 - from Monday.

"Jerry Springer was a TV icon and a trailblazer for reality TV, showcasing real people and their lives," said Kris Vaiksalu, head of programming at That's TV. "Jerry was widely applauded as a host because he was non-judgmental and good-humoured.

"Throughout his life, Jerry spoke out for the marginalised and unrepresented. He once joked that he would end up in hell. However, speaking as someone who studied theology I see Springer as a modern-day prophet, with his famous Final Thought monologues promoting kindness and understanding.

"That's TV seeks to broadcast era-defining TV shows, and there is no more iconic daytime TV show in the world than The Jerry Springer Show. The show was a mainstay of popular culture for three decades."

That's TV is available on Freeview channel 65, Sky channel 171 and Freesat channel 178.
