ITV2 is reportedly planning to bring back Celebrity Karaoke Club with famous drag queens among the contestants.

ITV2 is reportedly planning to bring back its lockdown format Celebrity Karaoke Club for a new series with a drag twist.

The show - recorded last year during the coronavirus lockdown - sees celebrities face off in a number of singing challenges in a traditional karaoke setting.

According to The Sun, the new series will feature "your favourite queens battling it out on the mic alongside some of the world's best-loved pop acts".

Names linked include Dannii Minogue, Steps, Samantha Mumba, Jade Thirlwall, The Vivienne and Bianca Del Rio.

"The brains over at ITV2 have seen the cult success of Drag Race and they wanted to inject some of the sparkle and magic from that show into Celebrity Karaoke," a source told the newspaper.

"The idea is the same in that the queens would be going up against each other in karaoke – and the person voted the worst would be out.

"Every episode, bosses want to bring in an iconic pop star to perform with the queens."

The series will reportedly be filmed "in the next few weeks" for broadcast later this year.
