Despite edging past Norwich City last weekend, Mikel Arteta and his Gunners squad have endured a frustrating start to the season.

Arsenal endured a barren spell throughout August, losing out to Brentford, Chelsea and Manchester City without scoring a goal.

Should they lose in the same fashion against the Clarets, it will represent the first time since 1923 that they have opened a league season with three successive defeats and no goals.

Sixty-seven years have also passed since Arsenal lost their three opening matches on the road, records which may act as extra motivation to Arteta and his players.

The North Londoners currently sit in 17th position in the top-flight standings.
