Per Mertesacker: 'We must maintain our intensity'

Arsenal defender Per Mertesacker wants his teammates to maintain their intensity as they prepare to face Hull City in the FA Cup final on May 17.

Arsenal defender Per Mertesacker has insisted that the team must maintain their focus as they prepare for the FA Cup final.

The Gunners face Norwich City in their final Premier League match on Sunday, before playing Hull City in the final at Wembley on May 17.

Mertesacker has told his teammates that they should look to continue their momentum with a victory at Carrow Road this weekend.

"I think everyone is really up for the cup final and everyone really wants to win it," Mertesacker told Arsenal's official website. "That is the target and we've got one game to go and we want to take it very seriously.

"When you switch off, it's hard to switch on again so we want to keep the focus and intensity high in training. But as you know everyone is looking forward to the last game and even more to the FA Cup final."

Arsenal recorded a 1-0 victory over West Bromwich Albion at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
