Brighton & Hove Albion striker Glenn Murray describes his side's 2-1 victory over Arsenal as a "special win" which could help to edge them towards Premier League survival.

Brighton & Hove Albion striker Glenn Murray has talked up the importance of his side's 2-1 victory over Arsenal at the Amex Stadium this afternoon.

The Seagulls piled more misery on the under-fire Gunners, dealing them a fourth consecutive defeat across all competitions courtesy of first-half goals from Lewis Dunk and Murray.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang pulled one back for Arsenal towards the end of the first half, but Brighton held on in the second half to pick up a victory which leaves them in the top half of the table and now seven points clear of the relegation zone.

"It is a special win, against one of the so-called big six teams, we've beaten them and it's massive for us. It was cagey after they got one goal back, they had the better of the second half but we hung on in there," he told Sky Sports News.

"[My goalscoring] is down to my supply line, the people who feed me and Gross put in another fantastic cross. It does not matter what league you are in, the goalposts don't move.

"We are edging [to safety], I am sure if we lost every game we had left, we would go down. We have to keep at it and hopefully see us over the line."

Brighton have now won four and lost none of their last six games across all competitions and are only two wins away from reaching the 40-point mark.
