Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is charged by the FA for his "abusive" conduct following the Gunners' 1-1 draw with West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has been charged by the FA for his "abusive" conduct following the Gunners' 1-1 draw with West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.

Alexis Sanchez had given Arsenal the lead with a free kick, before Calum Chambers conceded a penalty late on for handball, which Jay Rodriguez converted to equalise.

Wenger slammed referee bias following the result, which prevented Arsenal from breaching the top four.

"It is alleged [Wenger's] language and/or behaviour in the match officials' changing room after the game was abusive and/or improper and/or questioned the integrity of the match referee," an FA disciplinary statement read.

Arsenal face Chelsea on Wednesday looking to make up ground on Liverpool, who capitalised with a 2-1 win over Burnley.

Wenger has until 6pm on Friday, January 5 to respond to the charge.
