Arsenal and Everton are reportedly weighing up whether to make a summer bid for Barcelona defender Emerson, who has recently been representing Real Betis.

Arsenal and Everton are reportedly monitoring the situation involving Barcelona defender Emerson.

While the 22-year-old has played for Real Betis since January 2019, the right-back was brought to La Liga with the intention of eventually representing Barcelona.

According to Sport, the Brazilian is expected to link up with the Catalan giants for pre-season with the view of potentially featuring in their first-team squad.

However, Barcelona officials are open to cashing in on Emerson, who allegedly sees the Premier League as his second choice if he is not given the chance to play at Camp Nou.

Arsenal and Everton will both be interested should he become available, the former Atletico Mineiro man regarded as a cheaper alternative to options in England.

Emerson, who can also play further down the right flank, has contributed one goal and four assists from 33 La Liga starts this season.
