Chelsea are reportedly leading the race to sign Middlesbrough youngster Calum Kavanagh.
While the 16-year-old is yet to make his first-team debut for the North-East outfit, Boro are keen to tie down the prospect to a long-term deal at the Riverside Stadium.
However, The Sun claims that the teenager is attracting interest from the Premier League, with Chelsea and Arsenal monitoring the situation.
Much could depend on whether Boro are able to reach a compromise with Kavanagh, who is said to be open to remaining at the Championship side providing that it is on a contract shorter than what is currently being offered to him.
Should the young Irishman depart Boro, Chelsea are regarded as the frontrunners for his signature as Frank Lampard places an emphasis on bringing through youth talent at Stamford Bridge.
Kavanagh has contributed six goals from 13 appearances in the U18 Premier League this season.
