Everton could reportedly beat Arsenal to the signature of Brighton & Hove Albion centre-back Ben White.

Everton have reportedly informed Brighton & Hove Albion that they are prepared to pay £50m to sign Ben White during this summer's transfer window.

The 23-year-old, who is currently with the England squad at Euro 2020, made a strong impression for the Seagulls during the 2020-21 campaign, featuring on 39 occasions in all competitions.

Arsenal continue to be strongly linked with White, but it is understood that the Gunners are struggling to come up with the fee required to open contact talks with the centre-back.

According to The Sun, Everton, under the instruction of new head coach Rafael Benitez, have told Brighton that they are prepared to pay £50m for the Englishman.

The report claims that White is currently fully focused on Euro 2020 but is aware that there appears to be a battle for his signature ahead of the 2021-22 season.

The defender has three years left to run on his contract with Graham Potter's side.
