Lucas Perez 'to fight for Arsenal future'

Lucas Perez is not put off by growing competition for a starting spot at Arsenal and will fight for regular football next season, according to a report.

Arsenal striker Lucas Perez is reportedly willing to bide his time and fight for regular football at the Emirates Stadium next season.

The 29-year-old is back in North London after spending the 2017-18 campaign on loan in his native Spain with Deportivo La Coruna.

Perez was involved for Arsenal in their first summer friendly, an 8-0 win over Boreham Wood, and is now expected to travel to the Far East for the next part of pre-season.

According to Spanish outlet El Desmarque, the former PAOK ace is not put off by competition from the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette, Danny Welbeck and Alex Iwobi, and he intends to remain at the club next season.

Arsenal boss Unai Emery knows Perez from their time in La Liga, with the forward spending the 2014-15 campaign with Deportivo prior to joining the Gunners in a £17m move.
