Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira is reportedly eyeing a transfer to a new club in January after struggling for game time on loan at Atletico Madrid.

Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira will reportedly try to force a move elsewhere during the January transfer window.

The 24-year-old became a fan favourite in his first season at Arsenal but struggled for game time under Mikel Arteta last term, leading to him joining Atletico Madrid on loan in the summer.

However, the Uruguay international has only started two matches for Diego Simeone's men in all competitions this season, although a positive coronavirus test has hampered his game time in the Spanish capital.

Nevertheless, La Nazione reports that Torreira will be looking to cut his loan with Atletico short and secure a transfer to another club next month - leaving Arsenal permanently in the process.

The midfielder arrived at Arsenal from Sampdoria in 2018 and has been tipped to move back to Serie A, with Fiorentina and Torino potentially reigniting their interests in Torreira in January.

Torreira has struck four times in 89 appearances for Arsenal across all competitions, and his current deal in North London will expire in the summer of 2023.
