Claudio Ranieri "not disappointed" with Monaco draw

Claudio Ranieri is pleased with a point following Monaco's draw at Reims on Sunday.

Monaco coach Claudio Ranieri has refused to be disappointed by his side's failure to beat Reims on Sunday.

The Monte Carlo outfit moved back to the top of Ligue 1 at the weekend after Joao Moutinho cancelled out Antoine Devaux's opener to force a 1-1 draw at Stade Auguste Delaune.

"Both teams wanted to win", Ranieri told L'Equipe. "I'm not disappointed with the result. When you cannot win, you must not lose.

"Even though there was a lot of intensity, it was a very good match. The players worked well. This is what matters most to me.

"I had advised my players about the quality of this team, who beat PSG and Lyon last season and who beat Lille this season. It was a really good game."

Monaco host Saint-Etienne at Stade Louis II on Saturday.
