Barcelona have revealed that Sergino Dest is set for a spell on the sidelines with the hamstring problem that he picked up in Thursday's 2-1 win over Galatasaray in the Europa League.
The 21-year-old was handed a start at right-back against the Turkish outfit and played 56 minutes of the contest before being replaced by Ronald Araujo.
Barcelona have now confirmed that subsequent tests have led to a diagnosis of a hamstring injury, with the United States international now set for a spell out of action.
"Tests this Friday 18 March on Sergino Dest have confirmed an injury to the biceps femoris muscle in his left hamstring and he will be unavailable until he recovers," read a statement on the club's official website.
Dest, who was linked with a January move away from Camp Nou, has been a regular for the Catalan giants this season, making 27 appearances in all competitions, contributing three assists in the process.
Dani Alves was ineligible for Thursday's clash with Galatasaray, but the Brazilian is in line for a return at right-back against Real Madrid in El Clasico on Sunday evening.
