Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman reportedly faces the axe if he is unable to lead the club to the 2021-22 La Liga title.
The former Netherlands boss managed to scoop the Copa del Rey during his first full season in charge of La Blaugrana, but his side disappointed in the league and Champions League.
Nevertheless, club president Joan Laporta stuck by Koeman as he prepares for his second year in the Camp Nou dugout, although his existing deal is due to expire in 2022.
Koeman could supposedly be handed a new contract if certain goals are met this season, but Cadena SER claims that failure to secure the La Liga crown will spell the end of his time in control of the reins.
Furthermore, even if Koeman is able to steer Barcelona to the top-flight title, the report adds that he would only be given an additional 12 months on his contract.
The 58-year-old has overseen two wins and a draw from his side's opening three games of the 2021-22 La Liga season and has won 37 of his 57 matches in charge across all competitions.
