Barcelona president Joan Laporta reportedly identifies Real Betis playmaker Nabil Fekir as an ideal acquisition for the summer window.

Barcelona president Joan Laporta is reportedly keen to bring Real Betis playmaker Nabil Fekir to the club.

The 28-year-old has been at the heart of Betis' push for Champions League football this season, scoring four goals and setting up six more in 21 La Liga appearances.

Fekir is tied down to Manuel Pellegrini's side until the summer of 2026 - penning a contract extension just last month - but that has supposedly not deterred the cash-strapped Catalans.

According to Sport, Barca president Laporta is determined to bring the former Lyon man to Camp Nou and is preparing to sanction an offer of €60m (£50.2m) to prise him away from Betis.

However, the report adds that Betis are looking for €80m (£67m) to consider sanctioning a sale after his recent contract extension, but Laporta has not been put off by the Verdiblancos' demands.

Fekir has amassed 19 goals and 20 assists in a century of appearances for Betis since arriving in the summer of 2019, when his proposed move to Liverpool fell through.
