Arsenal legend Thierry Henry named assistant manager of Belgium national team

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry is named as assistant manager of the Belgium national team.

Belgium have announced that Arsenal legend Thierry Henry will join Roberto Martinez's coaching staff as an assistant manager.

The 39-year-old Frenchman has been working as a Sky Sports pundit since last year, and until July had a job as an Under-18s coach at Arsenal.

Today, it was confirmed by Belgian FA executive director of sports Chris Van Puyvelde that Henry will be one of the assistant coaches working alongside Martinez, who was appointed as Marc Wilmots's successor earlier this month.

Graeme Jones is the other assistant manager to be hired, while Richard Evans has been named head of team and individual fitness.

It was also announced that Erwin Lemmens and Inaki Bergara will be the team's goalkeeping coaches.

Henry will juggle his role at Sky Sports with his new job.
