Full-back Stephen Crainey curled in a free-kick to rescue a point for Blackpool in their home fixture against Portsmouth this evening.

In a first-half of very few goalscoring opportunities, Pompey broke the deadlock in stoppage time. Marko Futacs's shot fell to the feet of teammate Erik Huseklepp, who took one touch before shooting past a wrong-footed Matt Gilks in the Blackpool goal.

Huseklepp had a good chance to double his side's advantage shortly after the restart, but his bouncing effort was held by Gilks on this occasion.

Blackpool began to exert some pressure on the visitors, with Alex Baptiste going close with an acrobatic effort.

Their domination finally told 14 minutes from time as a result of Crainey's intervention. The Scottish defender lined up a free-kick 25 yards from goal and curled the ball beyond the reach of Stephen Henderson. Crainey's effort was the first Blackpool had had on target.

Ludovic Sylvestre went closest to claiming a winning for Blackpool, but his low effort was palmed away to safety by Henderson.
