Brentford have confirmed that Mark Warburton has become the club's new manager until the end of the season at least.
The League One outfit had been expected to promote Warburton to manager following the departure of Uwe Rosler, who has taken over at Championship side Wigan Athletic.
Warburton has been at the club since February 2011, where he became interm first-team coach before being appointed as sporting director that summer.
Brentford chairman Cliff Crown told the club's official website: "Mark has done an exceptional job as Sporting Director since taking that role 30 months ago and we are happy he can step in to this new role seamlessly.
"We believe it will help the players and staff to work with someone they know and respect and we look forward to continuing success for Brentford Football Club."
Brentford are currently fourth in the League One table.
