Brighton & Hove Albion boss Chris Hughton has paid tribute to the qualities of Leicester City forward Jamie Vardy.

Vardy will be looking to cause Brighton some problems this weekend when the Foxes travel to the Seagulls in the Premier League.

The 31-year-old has scored 17 times in 34 appearances for Leicester this season, while he will enter the match off the back of scoring for England in Tuesday night's 1-1 draw with Italy.

Hughton has said that Vardy will rightly travel with the England squad to the 2018 World Cup due his improvement since becoming a Premier League footballer.

"His qualities are quite obvious to anybody that plays against him," Hughton told reporters.

"His timing is good and he is reliant on a good team behind him and of course the service. When you look at the goal he scored for Leicester at West Brom it's not only the run but the service that he gets.

"Credit to him, he's improved as a player and rightly so is part of that England squad that will go in the summer."

Leicester are currently eighth in the Premier League table - six points and four positions above Brighton.
