Sean Dyche: 'Referee got two penalty decisions wrong'

Sean Dyche believes that the referee got two penalty decisions wrong during Burnley's 2-2 Championship draw against Birmingham City.

Sean Dyche has said that two key decisions went against Burnley during their 2-2 Championship draw against Birmingham City.

The Burnley boss felt that his team should have been awarded a penalty in the fifth minute after Jonathan Spector tackled Lukas Jutkiewicz from behind, while he also questioned the awarding of a spot kick to Birmingham when Tendayi Darikwa was deemed to have fouled Clayton Donaldson.

"The whole game, I think, would have been considerably different on a decision," Dyche told Sky Sports News.

"When it's that blatant on Jutkiewicz, it's unfathomable to me. I was a defender, the defender's done and he's panicked. It's not only a penalty but he goes off the pitch.

"Then you have the contentious other penalty. Their lad [Donaldson] runs in an unnatural manner, stands on our lad's [Darikwa] toes and goes down. Two big decisions go against us."

Burnley are yet to win this season, after drawing against Leeds United on the opening day.
