Two goals from Peter Whittingham gives Cardiff City a 2-1 lead over Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Peter Whittingham has struck twice to give Cardiff City a 2-1 half-time lead over Wolverhampton Wanderers.

It was the visitors who opened the scoring in the 10th minute courtesy of a Bakary Sako free kick.

However, Cardiff were given the chance to respond instantly when the referee deemed that Ronald Zubar had fouled Craig Noone inside the area.

Whittingham stepped up and dispatched the spot kick, sending Carl Ikeme the wrong way.

The 27-year-old midfielder then put the hosts in front with a low left-footed shot just three minutes later.
