Henrik Larsson: 'No regrets about turning down Celtic job'

Henrik Larsson says that he does not regret turning down the Celtic manager's job.

Henrik Larsson has said that he does not regret turning down the manager's job at Celtic.

The club's record goalscorer was offered the job after Neil Lennon left Celtic Park, but turned it down to continue managing Swedish club Falkenbergs.

"There was a lot of substance in it but I still feel that I wasn't ready for it," Larsson told BBC Sport.

"The circumstances weren't the right ones. I think the day you underestimate the importance of the job at Celtic football club that's the day when you fail. I've seen a few coaches doing that.

"Was I tempted? Of course I was but at the same time I had signed a one-year deal to manage Falkenbergs and it wasn't the time to leave them."

Larsson scored 242 goals in seven seasons for Celtic.
